Why these prices

These prices stay while coil is new. They go up later.

Portable · for life

The single price you pay buys a link that follows you. Move shops, leave shops, go solo, come back — yourname.coil.tattoo stays yours. Your portfolio, deposits, reviews, client records travel with you. Nothing to rebuild when you move.

Where the money goes

Vs. Porter, KTF, the rest

We picked a side.

Booksy and Vagaro take a cut of every deposit, tip, and balance. Coil doesn't. That part's easy. The harder question is the other flat-price tattoo tools — Porter ($35/$65 solo, $250/mo for a shop of any size), Keep The Fees, Tattoo Studio Pro. They don't take a cut either. And they do things coil doesn't. Here's the honest read.

What coil ships that they don't

  • AI Healing Watch. A client texts “is this peeling normal” with a photo at 11pm. Coil reads it. Healthy + watch get a calm reply right away. Concern + urgent escalate to you with the photo.
  • AI Style-Fit Score + Pricing Coach. Every new inquiry comes with a 0–100 fit score against your portfolio and a quote range trained on your own past jobs. Not the industry average — yours.
  • Cancellation waitlist that auto-fills. When you cancel, coil texts your top five waitlisted clients a one-tap claim link. First to deposit wins the slot. No story posts, no DM scramble.
  • Portability moat. Your URL, portfolio, inquiry history, deposits, reviews, waitlist, and touch-up credits follow you to any shop for life. Nothing to rebuild when you move.
  • Apprentice mode. Mentor-approval queue for apprentice bookings. Review, optionally re-price, then it goes live. Quiet teaching tool, brand protection, kills under-pricing.
  • One-minute site build. Drop a few photos from your camera roll — coil classifies the work, pulls your palette, drafts a bio, and ships the site before you've paid a dollar. Instagram auto-sync is in review with Instagram and opens to connected accounts once approved.

What they ship that coil doesn't (yet)

  • In-person POS card terminal hardware. Coil composes deposit + tip + balance requests via Stripe links and Venmo / Zelle / Cash App / PayPal handles. If you need an in-person terminal today, coil isn't there yet.
  • Full payroll system. Coil tracks commissions and produces a monthly payout sheet. It doesn't cut paychecks or file 1099s — your accountant or a payroll tool still does that.
  • Inventory management. Needle, ink, and jewelry inventory tracking isn't in coil. If you need that level of stockkeeping today, a tattoo-specialty inventory tool sits alongside coil.

Coming, no date promised. We focus on what makes the biggest difference for you.

Porter handles tattoo POS. Coil handles the tattooer. If you spend most of your shop hours doing in-person card swipes, an all-in-one with full POS hardware will fit you better today. If you spend most of your hours sorting inquiries, drawing custom pieces, chasing healed photos, and rebuilding your site every time you move shops, coil is built for you.
